The songs and music
KENNY HERBERT is an Edinburgh songwriter who has been working on the music scene for many years having been inspired throughout his life by the music of Paul McCartney. Over the years he has always written and recorded original music and insists the reward is being able to write and perform new material that people can enjoy and relate to. Along with his solo writing Kenny has co-written with various writers including 'Pilots' David Paton, Scottish Guitar legend Rab Howat and one of the UK's top soul jazz artistes, the London based brilliant Ola Onabule. He has tried to keep all his music as honest as possible with timeless melodies and lyrics written from the heart. From the music he has written and recorded over the years he has built up a catalogue of songs, some of which are previewed and available to buy on this site.
Kenny says—"My latest album 'ALL OF MY DAYS' was recorded by David Paton and through his support and musical talent I have completed an album of self penned songs that I am really proud of. Again, these are all heartfelt compositions written and performed because of my own experiences in life. Over the years recording with Davie in Denia, Spain, Abbey Road 2, London and in my hometown of Edinburgh has been a real joy and the fulfilment of a life long ambition, long may it continue".

DAVID PATON first came to be noticed as the lead singer and writer in 'Pilot' writing No.1 hit songs including 'Magic' and 'January', then going on to collaborate with various major artists such as Kate Bush, The Alan Parsons Project and Paul McCartney. He also completed years of touring the world and recording as bass guitarist with Elton John, including playing at 'Live Aid' in '85. Along with working with Kenny, David is currently continuing to produce his own material and also write and sing with Japanese band 'Beagle Hat' whilst still managing to fit in sell out gigs in Australia and Japan. Songs of my life - All my Days

Since coming back from Liverpool I have continued to concentrate on writing and recording some new songs ‘The sweetest gift’’Live for today’and ‘Waking up the world‘ are the most recent I have done with Davie. I always feel in life you must make an effort to achieve all you can for yourself, your friends and for the ones you love and care about. It’s all about making time and effort for anything or anyone that is important to you...and letting them know! This coming week I am making a video for ‘You Tube’ of a personal song I have written called ‘All my days’. This will be posted in the next couple of weeks. My pal from the west, George Burton has suggested we try and co-write a couple of new songs, which sounds a pretty good idea to me, he is enthusiastic, talented and loves doing original work. Looking forward to getting together. Finally I have written a song entitled ’Walking in the park’ which has been adapted from a poem written by a good mate Alfie Buxton, this will be recorded in the next week or so.
