The songs and music of KENNY HERBERT
an Edinburgh musician/songwriter who has been working on the music scene for the last 20 years writing and playing in various styles from Pop and Traditional Scottish to Soul and R&B being influenced mainly by the music of Lennon and McCartney. Along with his solo writing Kenny has co-written with various writers including ‘Pilots’ David Paton, and has a current successful partnership with Scottish Guitar Legend Rab Howat. Kenny has also written some tunes with one of the UK’s top soul jazz artistes, the London based underrated Ola Onabule. Over the years he has written and recorded some good albums and has built up a catalogue of real quality songs, some of which are previewed on this site. Kenny insists the reward is being able to write record and perform original timeless melodies that people can relate to and appreciate. Kenny says “recording in Denia, Spain, Abbey Road, London and in his hometown of Edinburgh has been a real joy and that he has kept all his original music as honest as possible by coming up with strong melodies and lyrics written from the heart”. The first album recorded was 11 song guitar based fun 'Beatlesque' songs with a 5 piece band and string productions. Recorded at Abbey Road and Heartbeat Studios. With all words and music by Kenny Herbert & Ed Jones. All vocals by Kenny Herbert. Produced by David Valentine.
